What time does the event start?:

The Gala begins at 5:30 PM with our silent auction and cocktails and then moves into a seated dinner, live auction and dancing. The event will end at 11:00 PM but please join us at Penny Lane Pub for the after party!

How do I purchase tickets?:

You can purchase tickets, blinky rings, tag day, etc here!

What are blinky rings:

Blinky rings are purchased to play the game heads or tails before the live auction. Each ring allows you one “life” in the game. You play the game heads or tails by standing up, auctioneer flips a coin and you have to chose to put you hands on your head or your tail. If it lands on heads and you chose head, you are safe. If not, you are out. If you purchased more than one ring, you used up one of your life’s and can keep going!

What is Thursday Tag Day?:

A well loved SMCS tradition is the Tag Day Pack, sold every year at Gala. Last year was such a success, we are keeping the same format! We are doing Thursday Tag Days! We will have 4 Thursday Tag Days, on March 16.23.30, and April 6th that students can dress in tag day attire and get a break from their uniform! Even if you do not plan on attending gala, this is worth checking out to purchase for your kiddos! Purchase here.

Do I need to wear formal dress?:

No! We want you to come and enjoy! Yes, some people will be in tuxedos & long gowns. But you’ll see just as many people in cocktail dresses and suits! Also, the fun of the theme is so that you can put your spin and interpretation onto it! The point is to come and have fun with our SMCS community!

What should I expect?:

First of all, you should expect a good time! Fun, music, food, many auction items to bid upon, dancing, laughing and more! You will enter and enjoy the silent auction, then move on to the seated dinner and live auction portion and end by dancing the night away! It will be a wonderful evening full of fun!

What is the Beverage Wristband?:

When you get to the gala, you just want to mingle and have fun. Many people don't want to hassle with cash or credit cards when purchasing drinks, so we created the beverage wristband. This wristband allows you unlimited non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and also allows you access to a fast track bar.

What if I don’t want to purchase a wristband?:

Totally fine! We also have a bar for those who prefer to pay via credit card. You can even purchase drink tickets prior to the event along with your admissions ticket. Either way, you will be taken care of!

Can I purchase drink tickets at the event?:

Absolutely! We offer the sale of drink tickets prior to the night on the website here, but you may also purchase additional drink tickets or the drink wrist band the evening of the event as well.

Can I invite my friends?:

YES PLEASE! Everyone and anyone is invited! They do not need to be parents or parishioners, the event is open to all people aged 21 and up. The more the merrier!

How can I/my company sponsor the gala?:

After Party?:

After the party ends at 11pm, we will head across the street to Penny Lane Pub for an after party. Your wristband and drink tickets DO NOT work to purchase drinks there.

Hotel Room Blocks?:

We do not have blocks of rooms reserved but, we suggest booking your hotel at Moxy Hotel, located right next to the John Marshall hotel. Other close options are Hilton Richmond Downtown or Richmond Marriott - both are about 1 block north of the venue.
