Dear Supporters of Saint Mary's,

We have a magnet on our refrigerator at home that reads: “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.” What does that mean to you?

You are an integral member of Saint Mary’s Catholic School. The walls and windows make up our school facility, but you and your family, and our remarkable faculty and staff, are the heart and soul of our school. When our community comes together, we are part of something much bigger than ourselves. Our words and our actions, as part of the Body of Christ, make a difference.

Next year will be our school’s fiftieth anniversary. For almost 50 years, Saint Mary’s has provided an educational environment where children are challenged academically and nurtured spiritually. Students here are taught to respect, value and have compassion for one another. The children, themselves, are respected, valued and loved by a caring and nurturing staff. Saint Mary’s makes a difference: in your family, in our family, in our community and in our world.

As an alumnus of Saint Mary’s Catholic School, and as the parents of Saint Mary’s students, we are grateful to be part of this community. We want to act as if what we do makes a difference.

Last year we told you that we would be part of the creation of a new development effort at Saint Mary’s that began planning for the next 50 years and beyond. That effort is underway. Key to our success, particularly as we seek grant funding, is our ability to demonstrate strong community support of the Annual Fund. The Annual Fund helps cover operating expenses that exceed what the school brings in through tuition. It’s one way we can all come together to contribute to the ongoing excellence of Saint Mary’s Catholic School.

Our Development Team is planning to apply to foundations and corporations who award grant money to schools like ours. These organizations want to see strong internal support from faculty and families as an important part of their evaluation criteria.

Last year, current-family participation in the Annual Fund was 25%. This year, let’s go all in – let’s all contribute to reaching and exceeding our Annual Fund goal of $60,000. Participation is the key! Whatever you are able to contribute will help us reach our goal of 100% family participation. Your financial support of this Fund marks your belief in the spirit of potential that’s at work here, and your desire to impact the continued growth of this community. You make a difference.

Thank you,
